^{***The American Red Cross will offer hemoglobin A1C (A1C) testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes, to all donors who successfully give blood, platelets or plasma from March 1-31, 2026. Fasting is NOT required. Donors will need to have a successful donation to receive A1C results, because only successful donations are sent to our laboratory for testing. Donors will receive one (1) test result per calendar year. Test results can be accessed in one (1) to two (2) weeks through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or a donor’s account at RedCrossBlood.org. A donor’s A1C or any other test result will not be released without written permission unless required by law. Donors who do not wish to have their donation tested for A1C are encouraged to schedule an appointment before or after March testing.
