Autologous Mononuclear Cell Collection Services

A dedicated Client Relationship Management team at the American Red Cross provides a single point of contact for clients and ensures standardization in services across our nationwide sites. Our ability to perform autologous MNC collections across the country allows our clients to offer subjects enrolled in their study's geographical convenience. Also, our expertise in providing hospital-based therapeutic apheresis and stem cell collections services allows us to provide in-hospital collections when needed.

Our skilled nursing staff is experienced in apheresis collections via peripheral or Central Venous Catheter (CVC) access and in performing CVC dressing changes. Utilization of staff across geographies ensures appropriate nationwide coverage, regardless of uneven demand.

Our national quality standards help ensure consistent collections according to American Red Cross procedures and client-specific manuals. All American Red Cross collection sites operate under one Quality Management System (QMS) and one set of national procedures, resulting in a streamlined audit process for our clients. These allow for one single systemwide audit, with local audits focused on the review of individual-site items, such as local staff training and equipment records.

American Red Cross has experience in implementing client-specific product sampling and testing, patient testing — including infectious disease and complete blood count — as well as packaging and shipping requirements in accordance with your manuals.

The American Red Cross offers direct contracting with trial sponsors to enable rapid onboarding of new principal investigators and hosting institutions while providing a direct billing structure that improves cost management. We can also contract with the hosting institution, depending upon client preference.

Our full-service cell therapy labs across the country perform processing, freezing, and storage of mononuclear cell products either according to your protocol or Red Cross protocols. If needed, the products can be frozen before shipment or be stored at an American Red Cross facility. Product testing can be provided, including sterility, viability, endotoxin, and immunophenotyping, as well as other requests. We offer same-day processing and cryo-preservation post-collection in select geographies.
