The Class of 2024
Joaquin Toledo is a current student-athlete for Kansas Wesleyan University. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, came to the US to pursue my bachelor's degree while competing in the sport he loves. After 2 years in Los Angeles, California he transferred onto a smaller city in Kansas. With his family back in Argentina, his goal is to make them and himself feel proud.
Megan Nelson is currently a sophomore at the Oregon Institute of Technology. She is currently studying dental hygiene and is very thankful to have received this opportunity because of the way the American Red Cross has helped both her close friends and herself. The American Red Cross has allowed her to make a difference in my community as well as make a difference in her country.
Born with an insatiable passion for learning, Joshua Parish has always been driven to remain a student of life. From adolescence, he’s been involved in various learning roles as a man, student, athlete, teammate, son, musician, ambassador, and even mentor. With a diverse range of interests and commitment to personal growth, he’s embarked on a path that combines his love for tennis and entrepreneurship with a deep sense of purpose. Through his growth, he hopes to make a lasting impression on the world, starting with his communities in Columbus and Sylvania. His peers describe him as reliable, determined, and open minded, and he aims to continue exhibiting those traits in his journey toward success.
The lively 19-year-old son of David and Sheena Salazar, Aidan Joaquin Salazar, is a Sophomore at Texas Wesleyan University. A talented baseball player, Aidan's character is defined both on and off the field by a dynamic combination of enthusiasm, intelligence, and humility. Motivated by a profound desire to work as a physical therapist, he devotes himself wholeheartedly and passionately to both his academic and sports endeavors. Aidan's modest and kind demeanor demonstrate how his trust in God has guided him throughout his life. Aidan is well-known for his supportive attitude and always goes above and beyond to assist people. He is a unique individual who is well-positioned for success in both his academic and professional activities because of his complex nature and dedication to perfection.
Brooke Holloway is from Columbus, Ohio and attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Brooke is a track and field athlete that is majoring in exercise science. She has a heart to serve others through compassion and understanding and has been blessed to represent her school through this service with the American Red Cross.
Alison Doerr is a Nursing Major at Concordia University Ann Arbor. She is on the Cross Country and Track team at Concordia as well. Alison grew up along Lake Michigan in Grand Haven, Michigan, where she fell in love with nature and the outdoors. Her goal is to one day run a full Ironman and an Ultra Marathon. She has a wide range of leadership skills that she has utilized over the years; Senior Class President, Leadership Member of National Honors Society, Team Captain, and many more. She loves taking initiative and working with others to tackle obstacles. Alison prides herself in always seeing projects through to the full extent. She has a big heart for helping others and is looking forward to working with the American Red Cross. She can’t wait to make a difference and create opportunities for others to do the same around her college campus.
Annamae Martin is a student at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. She is majoring in Psychology, while also pursuing a minor in Biology. After graduating, Annamae hopes to go to Occupational Therapy school and become a pediatric occupational therapist. She plays lacrosse, and in her free time enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and being active in her faith. She is passionate about helping people and doing what she can to make every day count.
Jakob Haber is a student at Grace College and Seminary, where he is on the pre-medical track pursuing an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences alongside his MBA. Although Jakob was born and raised in Indiana, at 10, he moved abroad to Uganda, followed by Lithuania and Ghana, where he spent two to three years in each location. Having experienced the healthcare system of developing countries, he felt a strong sense of duty to create opportunities for others to contribute support to their surrounding communities. While his engagement in each country differed, Ghana was where Jakob became the most involved. Having developed a connection with the Ghanaian Red Cross, he was able to begin coordinating blood drives within his local area. In college, he has remained steadfast in his hopes of creating community involvement opportunities through founding his own Pre-Health Club, where he has been able to create and sponsor events. With the position of the National Collegiate Officer, he aspires to intertwine the mission of the Red Cross and further the education of the local area through the organization of blood drives, disaster preparedness training, and CPR certification.
Emily Lewis attend Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas and is on the indoor and beach volleyball team and loves all of her teammates and coaches. Emly loves spending time with her family while hiking, playing board games, or cooking. Some of her favorite hobbies include reading, playing with my dogs, and trying new sports. Emily is super excited to be in this position and help encourage college students to donate to this amazing cause!
Éowynn Reynard is a dedicated student committed to making a difference through service and learning. Currently enrolled in Social Work at the University of Saint Mary, Eowynn’s academic journey is driven by a deep sense of purpose and a passion for community engagement. Eowynn believes in the transformative power of education and service to create positive change. Whether volunteering in campus ministry, a community soup kitchen, leading student study halls, or just helping out around campus, Eowynn strives to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others.
Elieza Mae Paule is originally from California and moved to Oregon. Currently, she is a sophomore at Warner Pacific University pursuing her bachelor in kinesiology and sport medicine. She aspires to further her education with a doctorate in physical therapy. In high school, she participated in clubs such as link crew(an organization to help incoming freshmen to transition to high school and guide them throughout the year) and was the head of communication for civic scholars. On WPU’s campus she has been an integral voice in student leadership since her freshman year, first serving as vice chair of the student diversity council. The following her sophomore year she now serves as an Resident Assistant and Peer Mentor.
Emma Perry is a student athlete at Park University in Parkville, MO. Emma currently plays basketball at Park, while also attending nursing school. She is excited for the experience this program will bring as she continues her schooling to become a nurse and make a difference in the world one day. This is such an amazing opportunity and she is so honored to have been selected by such an impactful organization.
